Position Description:

The Propel Center will serve as a catalytic epicenter of learning that provides HBCU students with the knowledge, skills, tools and resources necessary to transform our nation’s talent pipeline and workforce. Our vision is to build generations of black leaders who advance equity and justice through technology, entrepreneurship, education and social impact.

The Propel Center is seeking an individual to work closely with the Propel instructional design team, other Propel staff, HBCU partners and industry to co-develop and co-create instructional content to be amplified across the Propel ecosystem. We are also seeking applicants with the passion to work with others in a range of disciplines to advance ideas and solve emerging problems in the industry. 

The Vice-President, Programs will be a part of a team that is responsible for the programmatic success of Ed Farm’s Propel initiative by ensuring strategic program development, delivery, quality control and evaluation. VP, Programs will:


    • Identify, develop, manage, market, deliver, and evaluate large-scale educational programs. Collaborate with faculty, departments, and presenters to identify, design, produce and develop non-credit programs, credit courses, and real-world case-based pedagogy.
    • Determine curriculum objectives and education related performance competencies. Contribute to the design and development of various program evaluation tools to continually assess content and outcomes.
    • Organize programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. Develop new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.
    • Employ project management, relationship and consensus building, and negotiation concepts and skills to accomplish responsibilities on an agreed upon timeline and within an established budget.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    • You must be proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems.
    • You will have a history of strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.
    • You will be strong in managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, and performance.

Education and Related Work Experience:

    • Master’s degree desired, but bachelor’s with significant and relevant work experience may substitute.
    • Demonstrated experience managing multi-level projects in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group.
