SWIFT App Lead

Ed Farm is looking for a SWIFT App Developer to help build software products that will enhance the educational programming of the Propel Center initiative and encourage SWIFT app development across the HBCU ecosytem. The SWIFT App lead will work closely with HBCU students and faculty to create app designs, mock0ups, MVP’s and other creative digital experiences. The SWIFT App lead will work closely with the Propel technology and instructional design team to create the Propel Center app and other products that can be amplified across the HBCU and Propel ecosystems. 

Responsibilities:

    • Test and build features on the roadmap
    • Provide estimates and technical insight during backlog planning
    • Communicate with the product team regularly on development progress
    • Ship to production regularly
    • Take an active role in driving the technical and strategic direction of the product 

Knowledge and Skills: 


    • You have worked on many end to end web applications
    • You have experience with Admin management, authentications, and creating different user profiles
    • You’re comfortable using third party libraries
    • You’re obsessed with excellent software design and are familiar with Design Patterns
    • You have enough technical knowledge and experience to accurately judge how long it will take to complete a development task — you consistently meet your estimations and can communicate why if you don’t
    • You quickly identify technical barriers and know when to recommend an alternative solution
    • You’ve managed an efficient and thorough test suite, so you know what to expect out of your code and test accordingly
    • You’ve worked with a team to break down complex problems into simple deliverable solutions
    • You’re comfortable being the most senior developer on a small team
    • You are comfortable context switching to address bug fixes and other urgent product updates 

Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in SWIFT
    • At least 3 years as a contributing member of a development team
    • Experience maintaining a RESTful backend
    • Experience using modern JS UI frameworks
    • Experience with a relational databases and data modeling
    • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
