Responsibilities

    • Work closely with our Product team as well as with our UX, Marketing, and Solutions teams to design and develop new features for our edge AI platform.
    • Work with our world-class ML team to expose the results of their research through our product. You are not required to have an ML background, but you should at least be ready to learn!
    • Maintain and extend the Edge Impulse API and CLI. We love happy developers.
    • Carry cross-team initiatives from end to end: code reviews, design reviews, operational robustness, security hygiene, etc.

Preferred skills and experience

    • A minimum of eight years of software development experience.
    • Proven experience working with data storage systems, at scale and in a team environment using technologies such as PostgreSQL and Redis.
    • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and NodeJS or similar technologies with a desire to learn.
    • Proven understanding of how containers work and experience with Docker.
    • Experience and comfort level working on a distributed, remote team.
    • Demonstrable expertise working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Azure and/or GCS.
    • Experience with delivering work incrementally to get feedback and to iterate over solutions.
    • Show a passion for working on systems that are highly reliable, maintainable, scalable, and secure.
    • Experience with HTML and CSS.

Bonus points!

    • Background and interest in Machine Learning and/or mathematics.
    • Familiarity with data visualization principles and visualization frameworks like D3.js
    • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like DataDog.

$160,000 - $170,000 a year
We base our salary ranges from compensation research using both historic and real-time salary data sets. We have a reasonable estimate of the current salary range to be USD180-188K + annual bonus + equity + benefits. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this remote position where the engineer is based in a city in the US such as Raleigh, NC or Atlanta, GA, or Fort Myers, FL, or Lawrence, KS, or Stamford, CT, or San Antonio, TX or many others.
 
Edge Impulse targets overall compensation at the 75th quartile of the market for similarly placed companies, job families, and grade levels. Our salary ranges take into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, grade level, location, training, degrees, certifications, and other business needs.
