Position Summary- The Unit Manager plans, leads, and executes all services associated with Gladiator energy Coiled Tubing operations. They are expected to accomplish this while maintaining best in class operational standards set by Gladiator Energy. Employees who are in the Unit Manager role are expected to achieve all operational and performance goals whilst simultaneously adhering to compliance and HSE standards set in place by Gladiator Energy, their clients, and all relevant regulatory bodies. The Unit Manager acts as the primary Gladiator field representative to the client as well as any vendors associated with work being performed by Gladiator and is expected to defuse and settle any associated conflicts with a high degree of professionalism. The Unit Manager directs all personnel and equipment assigned to them and is the liaison between the Gladiator field operations teams and all non-field level support functions associated with the operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring all equipment STEMS are complete as per schedule prior to the job loadout.
- Organizing and resolving any issues related to crew travel, lodging, or equipment assignments required to perform the job.
- Performing the route inspection from the field camp to the jobsite; noting any hazards to traveling equipment.
- Contacting third party escort services when internal Gladiator resources are not available.
- Confirming all third-party equipment and materials are compatible with Gladiator’s operating protocols.
- Ensuring all materials in enough quantities with their respective documentations are available to perform the job.
- Certifying all units are pre-tripped, fueled and within the hours of service.
- Reviewing all high-pressure equipment certifications and shop calibration factors are accurate.
- Verifying transportation documents meets all customer, regulatory, and Gladiator’s requirements.
- Validating the equipment’s readiness state and notifying the maintenance person of needed repairs.
- Revising well and ticket information on the Job Board operational details.
- Coordinating between the on-site customer and Gladiator crew regarding the planned execution ensuring service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Verifying all equipment inspections and testing procedures are followed prior to mobilizing.
- Validating the equipment and material required by the job scope is listed on the load out form.
- Verifying all pre-job planning paperwork is complete, accurate, and timely.
- Reviewing job performance, customer feedback, and improvement suggestions to Service Supervisor.

Education and Experience
- Extensive experience leading coiled tubing services under a variety of environments by engaging the customer, jobsite crews, engineering, and operations management.
- Experience in diagnosing and remediating equipment issues on location.
- Extensive experience integrating surface events with downhole conditions to arrive at a logical diagnosis or conclusion.
- Extensive experience operating all equipment used in coiled service delivery.
- Experience working with a computer with word processing capability and data analytics such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.
- Extensive experience translating coiled tubing jobsite activity to simple and understandable language of inexperienced field personnel with patience.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Valid Class A CDL (preferred) with hazardous material endorsement (preferred).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of rig-up/rig-down sequence in coiled tubing operations.
- Ability to supervise any coiled tubing operations in any environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in collaborating with colleagues and in creating a team working environment.
- Ability to translate complex coiled tubing objectives to simplistic instructions for junior personnel.
- Understands Gladiator safety systems, policies, and procedures.
- Operates and troubleshoots data acquisition hardware / software / electronics.
- Understands DOT Hours of Service regulations, First Aid, H2S, Well Control, and MSDS.
- Proficient in Gladiator’s Maintenance protocols, processes, and documentation.
- Organizes job readiness, plans, delegate tasks, and communicates.
- Ability to use a computer and proficient in the Microsoft Software Suite such as Word, Excel, PDF, Teams, etc.
- Ability to consistently transcribe information or events into a report format in an accurate manner.
- Holds a valid well control certificate or the ability to acquire one within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to work a rotational schedule and remain fit for duty.
- Ability to meet the physical, language, mathematical and reasoning ability requirements of the position.
