The Business Analyst will work on the Digital Product Team on e.l.f.’s direct-to-consumer ecommerce platforms, helping manage new feature requests, bug reports, and major business initiatives. They will need to be able to successfully balance business needs and technical requirements, while keeping the customer at the center of the product development process. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

The Business Analyst will work directly with the Product Owners to organize incoming work requests, identify and execute the necessary work to prepare the request for development, and ensure that the request meets the needs of relevant business stakeholders. The Business Analyst will collaborate with the Sprint Manager to ensure work requests are ready in the right priority order and on time for upcoming sprint work and will work with other e.l.f. technology teams to ensure that cross-functional dependencies are met.

The Business Analyst will own a portion of the work requests, shepherding each request from initial requirements discovery and design, collaboration with the developers working on the request, and approval and hand-off to the business stakeholder.

Responsibilities

    • Act as the primary intake and triage point for new feature requests and bug reports: Ensure that all necessary data was provided by the stakeholder, assign priority level, and identify the follow-up steps necessary to prepare the request for development. This requires strong organizational skills and the ability to balance business priorities with technical requirements.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration: You should be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members, and other departments within the organization. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
    • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements: You will need to work closely with stakeholders such as business owners and developers to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements.
    • Collaborate with the development team: You will work with the development team to ensure that the product is built to meet requirements, while also ensuring that technical constraints are taken into account.
    • Prepare end users to utilize the product:  You will be responsible for ensuring that the end users of the product understand how to accomplish their business goals by providing written documentation and/or training sessions and be available to provide support as the users begin their onboarding.

Requirements:

    • A Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Information Systems, or equivalent degree or work experience
    • 3+ years of technology experience including and 1+ years of eCommerce management, operations experience
    • Excellent communication skills and strength in building partnerships; working collaboratively in a matrixed environment; Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to clearly document functional requirements, test cases, and user guides for new features
    • Creative thinker, leveraging prior experiences in solving problems in an innovative way
    • Website developer experience and/or knowledge of front end and back end development a plus
    • Proficiency in Salesforce Commerce Cloud Business Manager, Jira, Confluence and/or Monday, or ability to pick up new systems quickly
    • Ability to work during US daytime office hours
