As a key member of the Accounting team, the Accounting Manager is responsible for financial and accounting oversight, leading and ensuring a timely monthly close process in compliance with GAAP, working closely with the company’s outside auditors as well as internal operational teams to develop, implement and maintain effective business and accounting controls. This position will report to the Assistant Controller.

Primary Responsibilities & Objectives

    • Ownership of the monthly and year-end close processes, with an ability to design improvements and efficiency to the process by working with respective stakeholders
    • Manage team of three accountants to ensure accurate and timely monthly closes, including the review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis
    • Prepare financial statements, monthly financial reporting packages and other ad hoc schedules/reporting, as necessary
    • Develop and maintain our accounting policies and procedures, ensure they are in accordance with GAAP and adhered to in practice
    • Lead annual audit process, including coordination of schedules, timing and updates
    • Support M&A activities as necessary, lead post-acquisition Accounting integration
    • Streamline accounting processes, and drive process and system improvements, efficiency and best practices
    • Drive issues to closure by analyzing the issues, identifying root causes, developing and executing solutions
    • Lead cross functional projects as requested including design of end-to-end processes, working with IT to design, test and implement systems, evaluate and advise accounting treatments in accordance to GAAP
    • Ownership and supervision of the general accounting and accounts payable functions
    • Develop and supervise staff
    • Support business, as well as department goals and initiatives as required

Qualifications, Skills and Education

    • BA/BS in Accounting
    • 6+ years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
    • Several years audit experience with Big 4 or Regional CPA firm strongly preferred
    • Highly organized
    • Experience in a large sized SAAS or high-tech, public company
    • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP
    • Solid understanding of concepts, practices and procedures surrounding critical accounting functions
    • Experience with large ERP software systems; Workday experience preferred
    • Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills
    • Ability to partner with cross-functional groups to drive and influence business solutions
    • Ability to drive, best in class process improvements to scale a growing organization
    • Strong proficiency in Excel
    • Unquestioned integrity and ethics
    • Confident self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Supervisory and leadership skills
    • Excellent written and oral skills
    • Workday experience a plus
