 The Government Development Account Manager will report to the Vice President of Government and Strategic relations, and will be responsible for driving the completion of deliverables for key strategic initiatives in the Government Development organization. This person will be the liaison between external partners and internal teams, and must be able to leverage their knowledge of the mortgage industry and the capabilities of the Ellie Mae platform to drive initiatives to completion.  This person will be responsible for creating and managing project plans, and working with internal cross-functional teams such as product management, product marketing, marketing, partner development, and account management to drive project success.   This person will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day relationship with external partner project teams, developing presentations for regular internal and external status meetings and executive meetings, and developing and tracking metrics.  He or she will help to identify incremental business opportunities, define solution concepts, and develop business justifications for solutions/initiatives that meet the needs of our customers. 

Summary of Responsibilities

    • Manage a variety of new and existing projects for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, CFPB and other entities to better integrate their products, services, and priorities into the offerings for our mutual customers
    • Facilitate and coordinate internal resource contributions to initiative success
    • Manage issues and risks related to program and portfolio of projects, escalate and recommend solutions to VP Government Development as appropriate
    • Monitor and communicate progress on all initiatives; including project plans and briefings on project progress
    • Proactively work with the external partners and internal teams to identify and prioritize new features and enhancements to drive both customer satisfaction and internal business objectives
    • Work with product management to align priorities to the corporate roadmap and to ensure that requirements are clearly understood
    • Coordinate with product and product marketing to ensure that timely, effective go-to-market materials are created and available for key initiatives.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to lead the development, tracking, and reporting of metrics around adoption, quality, efficiency, and ROI.
    • Build and rollout reporting templates and dashboards for internal and external reports. Prepare and update weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports; organizing and preparing presentations as needed
    • Maintain up to date knowledge regarding mortgage industry and GSE/government initiatives as well as the Ellie Mae product line

Basic Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 3-5 years business analyst experience
    • 3-5 years project management experience
    • Understanding of the mortgage industry, GSEs (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac), and other housing-related government agencies
    • Understanding of/experience in mortgage industry origination through closing processes
    • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
    • Strong project management skills, including status reporting, project documentation, issue resolution, time management, and internal and external communication.
    • Track record of building and managing successful projects
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, support, marketing and sales.
    • Goal oriented with high standards for quality and performance
    • Self-motivated with a high regard for collaboration and a strong team player
    • Flexible and able to adapt within a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, and able to manage multiple competing priorities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong analytic skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
    • Some travel required

Preferred Qualifications

    • Working knowledge of Salesforce and SharePoint
