Embedded is actively seeking to hire a Clearing Compliance Specialist to be a part of our Clearing Compliance team. You will be responsible for supporting our product development to ensure offerings meet regulations and policy requirements, and collaborating with partners to ensure any updates or corrective actions are fully implemented. In this role you will be building and maintaining new procedures for monitoring and reporting for our business and helping our CCO develop oversight of our business operations.

What You'll Do

    • Work with the CCO to develop and implement policies, procedures and controls which successfully mitigate key risk factors for all covered business lines and conduct related monitoring
    • Build controls, provide metrics, and spot trends with transactional activity
    • Proactively recognize and mitigate risks and red flags
    • Perform due diligence on new and existing accounts
    • Assist with the development of surveillance and controls reasonably designed to detect and mitigate compliance issues and risks
    • Apply learnings to help other areas anticipate customer needs ahead of regulatory issues
    • Investigate and assist with responses to regulatory inquiries and examinations
    • Special Projects (including but not limited to aspects of Regulatory Compliance Management Implementation)
    • Write up processes and procedures for different functions across the clearing compliance team
    • Be an integral part of building the compliance team in collaboration with the CEO and CCO of the broker-dealer

Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum 3-5+ years working at a clearing broker-dealer
    • Previous experience with AML, Transaction Monitoring, Escalation Investigations and Due Diligence
    • Series 7, 63, 24
    • Legal experience and compliance background
    • Prior experience building processes from the ground up
    • A deep understanding around the way FinTech firms work, scale and operate
    • Analytical and data oriented approach to risk assessment and compliance management
    • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and limited supervision
    • High standard of professionalism
    • Exceptional writing and oral communication skills
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace

Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience working in compliance or operations at a correspondent clearing firm
    • Bachelors, JD or MBA
    • Experience managing projects collaborating with technical and non-technical teams
    • Prior experience at a broker-dealer financial services regulator (FINRA or SEC)
    • Active FINRA Series 4 or 14 licenses
    • Certifications such as CRCP, CSCP, CAMS
