Learning and Development Director
Are you passionate about learning and development? Have you strategically led many successful learning and development projects and teams? Are you known for creating top-notch learning solutions?

If you said “yes” to all of our questions, you might want to be a Learning and Development Director. 

As a Learning and Development Director, you will be responsible for:

    • Ensuring all projects meet or exceed the terms in the client’s statement of work.
    • Managing projects that deliver on time, on budget and with unparalleled quality.
    • Building an approach that involves and engages those impacted by the change and ensures appropriate sponsorship from management.
    • Conducting thorough needs and gap analyses of skills, audience, organization, etc.
    • Anticipating organizational changes that come with large-scale implementations.
    • Developing or guiding the development of instructionally sound, creative and high-quality solutions (e.g. curricula, storyboards, self-study, e-learning, blended learning) with high-impact, lasting results.
    • Working with clients to re-tool and re-skill their people, so they support the new way of doing business.
    • Building, managing, motivating and guiding a Learning and Development team.

    • You might also be asked to:
    • Manage multiple or complex programs.
    • Counsel and develop teams.
    • Provide thought leadership and quality assurance for project work.
    • Help with business development, like developing proposals for new work and building client relationships.
    • Identifying best practices and reusable tools and templates. 

Being a Learning and Development Director requires:

    • Minimum of 15 years external learning and development consulting, training or instructional design experience
    • Minimum of 10 years program/project management experience
    • Expert-level experience in instructional design principles and best practices
    • Superior business/technical writing and editing skills
    • Demonstrated experience as a project manager using proven methodologies
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
    • Significant experience working with people at all levels of an organization
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and support senior leadership
    • Competency design and development experience
    • Curriculum design and development experience
    • Blended training program design and development experience
    • Big 4 Consulting experience
    • Willingness to travel 

You get bonus points if you have some of these specialty skills:

    • eLearning authoring tools such as Captivate or Articulate
    • ERP or similar technology implementation training experience (InfoPak, UPK)
    • Mobile platform development
    • Learning Management System knowledge and experience
    • Gaming development experience
    • Project Management (PMP) Certification
