What you'll do :
- Global Leadership: Oversee a worldwide team of customs managers.
- Primary Contact: Your team will act as the main liaison with customs offices in EU and Non-EU countries.
- Quality Oversight: Monitor the accuracy of customs declarations made by third parties.
- Strategic Management: Manage power of attorneys and service levels with customs brokers.
- Audit Supervision: Handle customs audits by authorities and conduct internal audits.
- Process Development: Define and implement processes for customs compliance.
- Strategic Sourcing Support: Advise on sourcing locations for duties optimization and trade compliance.
Who we are looking for :
- Relevant Experience: Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in the logistics industry.
- Customs Experience: At least three years of practical experience in customs, a criterion for AEO certification.
- Trade Knowledge: Familiarity with EU preferential trade schemes and global tariff and tax implications.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a dynamic, high-growth environment; hands-on approach.
- Communication Skills: Efficient communication with European Customs Authorities; proficiency in English.
- Organizational Ability: Strong in organization, prioritization, and communication.
- Team Leadership: Experience in leading small teams across multiple locations.
- Additional Qualifications: Knowledge of EU customs law, German tax regulations, and fluency in German is a plus.
