What you'll do:
- As a Product Engineer, you provide technical and engineering support by developing design concepts for mattresses, beds, and innovative sleep products using a combination of 3D modeling, conventional prototyping, and rapid prototyping processes.
- Understand and translate customer needs into product specifications and technical performance (incl. target costing) and co-innovate with partners from all around the world on the products of the future through different iterations.
- Gain knowledge of different materials (foams, springs, textiles, wood, steel, etc.) and production processes to improve product performance and optimize production costs.
- Conduct competitor product benchmarking, materials library research, and monitor industry trends to bring the latest developments to products.
- Evaluate applicability, design, and test alternative materials (metal, wood, etc.) and develop associated design requirements of those materials.
- Validate the design of new products in close collaboration with the Operations, Marketing, and country teams.
- Monitor and report on all aspects of your projects including priorities, deadlines, profitability, and risks.
- Apply a customer-centric and agile approach to your projects.
Who we're looking for:
- You have high motivation and enthusiasm for our projects, reliability, proactivity, analytical thinking, and a collaborative mindset to work well in a cross-function team environment.
- You have studied Product or Industrial Engineering, Mechanical /Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or any other STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) disciplines.
- You are familiar with software like Adobe Suit, and Rhino.
- You have a proven ability to work cross-team and manage multiple stakeholders' needs and expectations.
- You have the ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- You feel comfortable being one of the multiple decision-makers to create a successful product.
- Experience in product cost engineering will be a plus.
- Agile project management certifications from institutes like PMI will be a plus.
- You are fluent in English; German will be a plus.
