About The Role

Empowerly is looking for a Junior Chief of Staff to support the work of our founders and our leadership team.

The Junior Chief of Staff will be a key extension of the founders and help coalesce company process development, including but not limited to internal organizational needs, external partnerships and communication, product design and development, and data analytics, and will serve as a voice and point of contact for the leadership team at Empowerly.

This is a full-time remote position. We have employees all over the country, but the founders and leadership team are based in California.

Responsibilities

    • Support the work of the founders and fully leverage their time & focus, in part by standing in as needed on individual projects and meetings
    • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, arranging travel, sending emails on behalf of management, and data entry & analysis
    • Take on leadership of individual Empowerly projects and initiatives, at the direction of the founders, ranging from new products & features to improvements or examinations of existing tools & processes
    • Understand and suggest improvements to Empowerly processes and services to help communities and local businesses unlock continued and new value through Empowerly's product
    • Provide a point of contact and be connective tissue across the multitude of teams growing within Empowerly
    • Be an exceptional teammate and partner to colleagues across departments
    • Ability to work and travel outside normal business hours

Requirements

    • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, math, physics, or hard sciences from a Top 50 US University
    • 1-2 years of work experience
    • Work experience in data analysis tools including Python
    • Broad experience in cross-team functionality and project management (at work or in extracurricular activities)
    • Demonstrated experience in implementing and executing standardized business processes

Nice to have

    • Experience in software engineering or machine learning
    • Experience working with students as a college counselor or tutor
    • Live in or around the Bay Area for in-person work sessions
