About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and driven Senior Search Engine Optimization Manager to join our team. This pivotal role directly contributes to providing families with invaluable access to college counseling services, helping to shape the futures of young students. By developing and optimizing sophisticated paid media strategies across various digital platforms, you will work closely with the Empowerly leadership team to enhance our outreach and impact. This position is key not only in managing significant advertising budgets but also in forging and nurturing strong client relationships, ensuring our commitment to educational access is communicated effectively and empathetically. Your strategic input will help us continue to empower students through their college admission journeys.

Responsibilities

    • Strategically develop, execute, and refine comprehensive paid media campaigns across a variety of digital platforms including Google Ads, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter, tailored to align with Empowerly’s specific marketing goals.
    • Implement and continually refine testing methodologies for ad copy, targeting strategies, creative elements, and landing page designs to ensure optimal campaign performance and effectiveness.
    • Build and sustain strong, meaningful relationships with both day-to-day contacts and senior stakeholders within the client organizations, fostering growth and ensuring high retention rates through deep understanding of their strategic objectives.
    • Proactively manage and allocate a high six-figure monthly advertising budget to maximize return on investment, making adjustments based on real-time performance data and strategic insights.
    • Regularly produce and distribute engaging and educational content, including blog posts, webinars, and internal presentations, aimed at enhancing brand visibility and engagement.
    • Lead educational initiatives and training sessions for the Empowerly team, focusing on the development of internal resources and improving overall marketing competencies.
    • Stay abreast of new and emerging trends in digital marketing, including technological advancements and changes in consumer behavior, to continuously adapt and optimize marketing strategies.
    • Independently troubleshoot a range of client issues from minor to complex, and provide robust support for more intricate challenges with the help of team support.
    • Contribute to the sales process by creating compelling deliverables that support upselling efforts and attract new business, ensuring a smooth and persuasive presentation of services.
    • Collaborate closely with content creation and design teams to produce highly effective ad creatives and landing pages that resonate with target audiences and drive conversions.

Requirements

    • Experience Requirements: Seeking a candidate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing Google Ads and paid social campaigns. This experience should span across both agency settings and hyper-growth companies, demonstrating a versatile skill set adaptable to dynamic business environments.
    • Budget Management: The candidate must have a proven track record of managing significant advertising budgets effectively, optimizing spend to achieve the best possible returns.
    • Analytical Skills: Requires strong analytical skills with a mastery of analytical tools such as Google Analytics and SEMrush. The candidate should be capable of extracting and leveraging data to inform strategic decisions and optimize campaign performance.
    • Optimization Expertise: Deep expertise in conversion optimization and digital customer acquisition strategies is crucial. The candidate should be proficient in using A/B and multivariate testing to refine campaign strategies continually.
    • Communication and Collaboration: Must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Adaptability in Fast-paced Environments: The role demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in fast-paced settings, demonstrating the ability to maintain high performance under pressure.
    • Digital Advertising Skills: Comprehensive experience across a variety of digital advertising channels is essential, including but not limited to paid search (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads), paid social (Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, LinkedIn Ads, X/Twitter Ads), display (Google Display Network, programmatic buys), and video (YouTube Ads).
    • Data Presentation: The ability to analyze, interpret, and present complex data clearly is crucial. This involves compiling campaign performance reports and presenting them in a way that is actionable and understandable to senior stakeholders.
    • Programmatic Experience: While not mandatory, experience with programmatic advertising platforms is a significant plus, providing the team with additional expertise in cutting-edge advertising technology.
    • Leadership and Initiative: Expected to build strong relationships, effectively prioritize tasks with minimal supervision, and lead client meetings. The candidate should also be capable of creating insightful, actionable reports and driving educational initiatives within the team.

$80,000 - $140,000 a year
The Senior Paid Media Manager is a full-time, exempt position working remotely. Competitive benefits package includes health/dental/vision insurance, unlimited PTO, and 401K. Typically, the salary range is $80,000 - $140,000 depending on location, experience, and skill set.
