Position Summary:
The Propellant Processing Technician position entails a diverse range of responsibilities associated with the processing of various propellants and propellant products. These duties encompass the precise handling and meticulous weighing of chemicals, proficient operation of grinding, mixing, and casting equipment, as well as the skillful assembly and disassembly of tooling. Additionally, meticulous completion of associated forms and records will be an essential component of this role.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Ensures strict adherence to the Company's comprehensive safety policies and procedures, promptly taking corrective measures upon identifying any potentially hazardous conditions or behaviors.
• Skillfully handles, weighs, transports, and stores chemical ingredients with utmost care and precision.
• Perform basic assembly and test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures and inspection measurement equipment in a production environment.
• Conducts thorough equipment check-out, proficiently operates, and efficiently cleans propellant processing machinery.
• Regularly handles hazardous and non-hazardous materials as part of the manufacturing process. (i.e. - Solvents, explosives, etc.)
• Work requires the ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Process Specifications (PS) to operate and setup machinery and related systems.
• This position is responsible for ensuring the safe processing of products that meet customer and NDS quality requirements in accordance with time standards for his/her assigned area of production.
• Proficiently interprets and follows written instructions and procedures, meticulously recording data and product information as per requirements.
• Maintains a high standard of cleanliness and organization in equipment and work areas, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff members.
• Utilizes computer systems and software to access vital documents and input data accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborates with Management, Engineering, Quality, and other stakeholders to identify and address issues, seize opportunities, and implement process improvements effectively.
• OT required for Friday and Saturday as needed.
• Performs minor set-up for specific equipment when required.

Required Experience & Skills:
• High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience working with hazardous chemicals or energetic materials is preferred.
• Proficient in spoken and written English, with the ability to comprehend and follow written instructions effectively.
• Strong ability to accurately read and interpret technical documents, including safety rules, manufacturing operating and tooling instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Willingness to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, perform tasks in inclement weather conditions, operate around loud industrial equipment, and work outdoors with reasonable accommodations.
• Must actively support and comply with company safety policies and initiatives.
• Successful completion of a respirator fit test examination.
• Ability to obtain BATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) approval to work with NDS products.
• Demonstrated positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Physical requirements: Ability to walk/stand for 80% of the time, lift 5 lbs. constantly, 25 lbs. occasionally, and 50 lbs. infrequently (above 50 lbs. with team lift).
• Excellent understanding and interpretation of various documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
