Mechanical Assembler

Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

What you will do as a Mechanical Assembler

• Places parts in specific relationship to each other with extreme accuracy
• Operates and tends automatic and manual processing equipment
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, jigs and fixtures
• Works at different workstations as production needs require
• Performs general daily housekeeping and cleaning of equipment and area to ensure a safe working condition for all employees
• Performs general maintenance of equipment as required
• Ability to recognize and report all operational variances as trained

What you need to qualify as a Mechanice Assembler

• High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, and packaging preferred
• Ability to obtain/maintain BATF approval to work with our products.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to be at work on time and on a consistent basis.
• Excellent team interaction and communication is a priority for this role.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Continuous movement of assemblies, fixtures, and raw materials weighing 5-10 lbs.
• Occasional movement of assemblies, fixtures, and raw materials weighing 11-25 lbs.
• Infrequent movement of materials weighing 26-50 lbs.
• Infrequent ability to move materials weighing 51-100# using a two-man lift as required.
• Ability to grasp, twist, lock, and unlock any assembly with both hands to allow work to be performed.
• Ability to pinch, press, locate, and hold small parts for assembly.
• Ability to hold and operate electric torque wrenches, pneumatic rivet guns, pneumatic calking guns.
• Ability to hold and operate manual torque drivers, torque wrenches, and various hand tools.
• Ability to move pallets with manual pallet jacks.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and reach as needed to perform assembly work.
• Able to use keyboards and mouse to input daily data into various operating systems.
• Ability to read, understand, and use measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures.
• All required PPE will be paid for or provided by Nammo.
• Ability to obtain BATF approval to engage in certain explosive operations
• All employees are required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses when performing work.
• Employees in an explosive environment are required to wear flame retardant smocks and conductive safety shoes.
• Employees may be required to wear other PPE specific to the work task such as:
-Nitrile gloves or similar.
-Chemical resistant gloves.
-Goggles and/or face shields.
-Tyvek suits, sleeves, and/or boot coverings.
-Wrist Stats for static electricity.
-Earmuffs or Ear Plugs.
-Respirators.
-Cut Resistant Gloves.
