About Emptor
Founded in 2016 and headquartered in New York, Emptor is a fully remote B2B SaaS startup. We are focused on solving trust and safety issues in Latin America by using big data. Emptor currently serves large multinational technology firms operating in the region by building tools for operational decision making at a large scale. We have opportunities in infrastructure, architecture, web scraping, NLP, ML and data science.

Emptor Engineering
Emptor is looking for a software engineer to join our infrastructure team, focused on site reliability and performance, maintenance and improvement of deployments, and integration with various AWS services, who will work closely with senior engineers to define and promote best practices across all teams in the company.

Location
Remote - Global team, 8:00 AM UTC-5 to 8:00 PM UTC-5.

Requirements
-Willing to work around the Americas timezones.
-A minimum of 3-5 years experience building and shipping high quality code.
-Fluency in the Python programming language.
-Strong background in computer science fundamentals.
-Previous hands-on experience with AWS DynamoDB, API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions.
-Demonstration of systems-oriented thinking: edge cases, failure modes, and life cycles.

-Has intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of asynchronous and parallel tasking in Python.
-Has intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of AWS platform.
-Has advanced understanding of web application programming and structure (e.g. HTML/JS/CSS).
-Has advanced understanding of system development methodologies.
-Has advanced understanding of Big O Notation and related concepts.
