Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group (VERG) is ready to hire an HR (Human Resources) Coordinator to help support our dedicated team of veterinary professionals.  

The Human Resources Coordinator will provide human resources support for the hospital team including:


    • Maintain employee-related databases. Prepare and analyze reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested. 
    • Maintain employee files in accordance with best practices. 
    • Act as liaison between staff, management, and our HR Business Partner for guidance regarding company policies, practices, and regulations. Provide advice, assistance, follow-up, and documentation. 
    • Ensure our team is treated fairly and reasonably, by working with the managers to resolve employee conflicts 
    • Assist with Payroll functions and maintain accurate time-keeping records 
    • Conduct timely new employee onboarding and orientation to ensure each associate feels welcome and has a positive experience 
    • Support employee transactions such as hiring and ongoing evaluation of staffing needs. 
    • Work in partnership with our Leave Specialist for our Leave of Absence, Worker’s Compensation claims, and FMLA administration 
    • Comply with federal, state, and local requirements by staying up to date with existing and proposed legislation. 
    • Assist department managers and supervisors with the steps in the progressive discipline process. 
    • Develop company engagement activities;  
    • Ensure job descriptions are written and signed for all positions. 
    • Provide administrative and project management support to Hospital Leadership 
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. 
    • Serve as Human Resources liaison to our HR Business Partner 
    • Support our HR Business partner in providing location specific insights to help with continued process improvements and employee engagement 
    • Experience in dealing with employee relations issues a plus 
    • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience in Human Resources 
    • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. 
    • Additional duties as assigned.
