Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group (VERG) is looking for a Veterinary Surgery Room Assistant to join our surgery team. The Veterinary Surgery Room Assistant plays a crucial role by providing support to the surgery team by managing surgical appointments, streamlining workflow and ensuring optimal patient care and client service throughout the surgical process

What you will be doing:
- Acquire history/vitals for surgical appointments
- Appropriately round veterinarians on appointments
- Ensuring medical records are received before appointment
- Scheduling/confirming appointments
- Admitting surgical drop-offs
- Discharging surgical patients
- Facilitating patient visits
- Client communication
- Assist the veterinary surgical team as needed
What you bring to the team
- A love for animals and a passion for the veterinary field
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital
- Basic knowledge of medications
- Comfortable with proper animal restraint
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- A compassionate, attentive, positive and respectful attitude
- A collaborative spirit- a willingness to support the team, be flexible and dependable
- A strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- An ability to manage time and priorities with minimal direct supervision
- A willingness to work non-traditional hours such as weekends, evenings, and a share of holidays
$21 - $27 an hour
compensation is based on skills and experience.
