Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group (VERG) is seeking an amazing Veterinary Technician to join our Cardiology Department.
VERG is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to specifically serve the needs of the Cardiology Department and support our mission of delivering world class care to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional and compassionate care for our patients from admission through discharge
- Support veterinarians in all facets of care, including interpreting and executing treatment directives
- Provide assistance to the Cardiologist during echocardiograms
- Electrocardiograms (ECGs) - 6 Lead
- Provide assistance during procedures like cardiac catheterization and pacemaker implantation
- Complete all necessary technical procedures and treatments, with strict adherence to department and hospital protocols
- Interpersonal communication with clients and referral veterinarians
- Maintain concise and accurate records of the patient's treatment progress and charges
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of cardiology suite.
Qualifications
- CVT, LVT, or VTS required
- Experience in cardiology preferred
- Proficient with medical mathematical calculations
- Understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response
- Basic computer skills a must
- Ability to handle and restrain dogs and cats
- Basic computer skills
- Be able to lift 40 pounds
- Be willing to continue to develop your own knowledge/skillset
- Be able work independently and proactively and successfully as part of a team
- Have ability to follow detailed directions and established protocols
- Flexibility necessary to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as needed
- Good time management skills
$31 - $43 an hour
compensation based on skills and experience
