Mesa Veterinary Hospital is seeking an OVERNIGHT Animal Care Attendant. We are a small animal practice with nine practicing veterinarians, including two exotics doctors.
 
We are looking for a caring and detail-oriented staff member to provide the animals with everything they need for a comfortable and happy stay while at the hospital. This position is also responsible for providing and maintaining a clean hospital environment.
 
Experience not required; we will train the right person.
 
Some duties of this position include:
 
·         Disinfecting counters and sinks, sweeping, mopping, dumping trash, cleaning kennels, cleaning bathrooms and dog walk areas 
·         Bathing, brushing and nail trims 
·         Walking dogs 
·         Restraining animals for the veterinary technicians while they perform blood draws and IV catheter placements 
·         Relaying information to technicians and other staff members regarding patients and boarding animals 
·         Feeding of boarding and hospitalized animals 
·         Monitoring patient vital signs 
·         Administering medications 
·         Troubleshooting IV catheters and pumps 
·         Stocking supplies 
·         Updating medical records for patients 
·         Navigating practice-management software (Cornerstone) 
·         Showing compassion and patience for all animals during their stay
 
Shifts: Four nights per week. 9pm-7am. Friday and Saturday availability preferable. We can often accommodate specific schedule needs so long as the schedule coordinates well with hospital needs and coverage for the overnight position.
