Key Responsibilites:
- Anesthetic Monitoring: Take charge of our patients' comfort and safety by expertly monitoring their anesthesia. Your keen observations and precise adjustments ensure they remain stable and pain-free throughout their surgical journey.
- Diagnostic Imaging: Become the go-to expert for capturing critical diagnostic imaging including CT and MRI.
- Administering Oral, IV, SQ, & IM Medications: Show your expertise by delivering medications with precision, whether it's through oral tablets, intravenous lines, subcutaneous injections, or intramuscular shots. Your skillful administration ensures each patient gets the right dose at the right time.
- Surgical Nursing: Providing essential support during pre and post op and procedures. From prepping the operating room to assisting with surgical tasks, you'll ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to successful outcomes.
- Laboratory Sample Handling and Testing: Manage laboratory samples ensuring they are properly collected, labeled and processed.
- Surgical Assistance: Be an indispensable part of the surgical team, providing hands-on support during procedures. Your skillful assistance, from handling instruments to positioning and managing surgical needs, ensures each operation goes off without a hitch.
- Medical Records: Keep detailed and accurate medical records, documenting every aspect of patient care. Your meticulous record-keeping provides a comprehensive history that supports ongoing treatment and ensures continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification preferred
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting, with a preference for anesthesia, surgery or specialty practice.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary anesthetic drugs and their effects, backed by specialized training and expertise, surgical positioning experience a plus!
- Skilled in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, medical math, drug calculations and other technical skills.
- Attention to detail, must be thorough in your work, with a focus on accuracy, especially in critical moments
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple tasks like a champ.
