Job Summary:

Energy Recovery is seeking a qualified candidate for an immediate full-time job opening for the position of Development and Application Engineer, CO2. This position is within the CO2 Business unit and reports directly to the Product Manager, CO2.

The Development and Application Engineer is responsible for driving our product maturity internally and externally and works cross-functionally with multiple departments on new markets and applications for Energy Recovery’s core technologies. This includes building out the infrastructure that ensures success and reliable and professional delivery of product, services, and support throughout the lifecycle of our products. Support in key product management activities will be required including collecting, analyzing and recommending technical requirements, voice-of-customer feedback and building application tools. With proven performance and delivery, increased responsibilities and opportunities in end user and OEM account management will be available as growth opportunities. Major Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Build out lifecycle support infrastructure from order to delivery and commissioning and operational lifecycle support;
    • Steward and develop processes to manage product lifecycle
    • Collect industry data to recommend product commercial requirements (e.g. warranty, return policy)
    • Work cross-functionally within the organization to ensure efficient deployment of developed processes
    • Support product management efforts;
    • Collect and report voice of customer feedback
    • Defining and improving technical requirements for current and future products
    • Define and build tools to enable refrigeration engineers, engineers of record and OEM engineers to specify, install and integrate Energy Recovery technology into typical refrigeration systems
    • Support investigation, and expansion to other market verticals;
    • Identify applications with commercial and technical feasibility for Energy Recovery products
    • Aid and guide technical research and requirements for new product opportunities
    • Develop markets, customers, identify value proposition and pain points for industry
    • Identify new opportunities and engage with management to establish strategies for pursuing those new opportunities
    • Perform other duties & projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

    • B.S. degree in related engineering or technical field or equivalent work experience.
    • 5+ years previous experience in engineering, product development and sustainment, or operations/business operations is desired.
    • Experience in developing and implementing business/operational processes and infrastructure.
    • Ability to develop business plans and other commercial documents (particularly customer facing documents).
    • Skilled at customer/stakeholder relationship management, business planning, teamwork and execution.
    • Superior oral & written communications and interpersonal/relationship skills including ability to convey technical information clearly at all levels.
    • Strong customer centric mindset – understanding customer’s requirements and ability to think like a customer is required.
    • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
    • 10-30% working time dedicated to traveling domestically and internationally, including customer visits, Energy Recovery worksites, trade shows, meetings, and conferences.
    • Basic time management skills, knowledge in business software platforms (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
The below range is the range that we reasonably believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. This range may be modified in the future. The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $150,000.
