We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Part-Time Event Assistant to join The Engine’s Community Operations team. This is an entry-level position, perfect for students looking to gain valuable experience in event management, customer service, and administrative tasks. As an Event Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of events while providing exceptional service to our clients and attendees.
Areas of Responsibility
- Customer Service: Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor, provide event information, and assist with any inquiries
- Front Desk Support: Manage the event check-in process, handle guest registrations, and direct participants to the designated areas
- Event Set-Up: Assist in the preparation and set-up of event spaces, including arranging seating, decorations, and equipment. Follow directions from the event lead to ensure all logistical requirements are met
- Technology Support: Help with simple audiovisual setup and troubleshoot basic tech issues during events
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with basic data entry, maintain guest lists, and support

Schedule and Compensation
- Part-time position, irregular schedule determined by the needs of events
- Must be available to support a minimum of 4 events per month
- Hourly pay determined by experience, between $18-$30 per hour
- Guaranteed at least 3 hours of work per event shift
