Enthought is looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to support our global product development and consulting service teams. The primary role of the DevOps engineer will be to manage the provisioning of technical infrastructure resources, write related documentation, and provide support that assists the teams in achieving their technological and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical infrastructure support to the Product Engineering, Technology & Solutions Engineering, and DTX Services teams
- Collaborate with customers to determine the technical infrastructure and cloud resources necessary to achieve the technical and business objectives of the project teams
- Monitor allocated resources and provide related technical support
- Optimize existing cloud resources to meet security and application requirements
- Develop automation processes to improve the deployment and management of technical infrastructure
- Provide documentation and ready-to-use solutions implementing best practices for the continuous integration and deployment of Python based applications on a variety of platforms
- Provide custom-coded deployment solutions where necessary for complex or unusual project requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer or software engineering, or a similar technical field or equivalent experience
- Two or more years of DevOps, IT or software development experience
- Experience with cloud computing infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)
- Experience with using Terraform in a production environment
- Knowledge of container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes and Docker Swarm
- Automation and scripting skills; must know at least Python or JavaScript and be comfortable with bash scripting
- Experience with building and deploying container-based applications and services
- Knowledge of standard automation and CI tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Travis-CI or others
- Linux, Windows and/or network management experience
- Team player attitude, with strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with teams worldwide
- Ability to effectively collaborate and build trusted relationships
- Ability to understand customer requirements
- Ability to inspire confidence, create trust, work under pressure, and plan personal workload effectively
- Key individual skills required include exceptional integrity, sense of urgency, openness in communication, people empathy and endurance
