The Senior Performance Testing Engineer is a crucial individual contributor role to our Test Engineering team and reports directly to a Performance Testing Engineer Manager.  This position is primarily responsible for designing and creating reliable performance testing solutions in our existing test frameworks.   A successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding of testing and automation, have a passion for analyzing test results, be excellent at communicating in a clear and concise way, and have the ability to perform at a high level towards team and department outcomes.

Responsibilities

    • Design and program creative and reliable performance tests in an existing testing frameworkHelp define “non-functional” requirements for features of the product
    • Build test scenarios based on acceptance criteria
    • Collaborate with technical stakeholders to understand systems or APIs
    • Operate independently using predetermined workflows and work cooperatively with all stakeholders
    • Utilizing engineering best-practices & view solutions with the end user in mind
    • Influence the success and growth of the team by mentoring and coaching junior peers while striving to share your knowledge with senior peers
    • Perform code reviews with others on the team while taking joint responsibility for proper design and quality of others’ projects
    • Work with the team Architect to establish best practices and patterns
    • Coach developers on best practices for Performance Unit Testing, and analyzing test results from Performance Tests
    • Work with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks in the code, identify and petition for testing environment needs, and tune applications according to test results and monitoring data

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
    • Experience working in an enterprise SaaS industry
    • Knowledge of, or experience with financial systems, payments, or accounting
    • Familiar with a variety of programming tools and development platforms
    • Experience with Infrastructure and DevOps
    • Experience working with the following tools (or equivalents):New Relic, LoadRunner, JMeter, Grafana

Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
    • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes, such as Jenkins or GitLab.
    • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
    • Experience with performance testing of database systems (SQL Server / PostgreSQL), Cache storage (Redis), and message queue (RabbitMQ).
    • Quick learning ability: adaptability in rapidly evolving technological environments.
