The Team
You will be joining an engineering team that is focused on the development, delivery and uplift of our flagship product, Elements. Elements is our subscription-based digital asset platform offering a vast library of creative resources to empower designers and creatives to do their best work and to bring their creative ideas to life! 

The role
A Senior Software Engineer provides technical and delivery leadership for a team of software engineers working on specific projects. This role will work with stakeholders and other software engineers to design and implement technical solutions for the business in a way that balances quality, cost, time and maintainability. This role will require strong software engineering skills and practises as well as end to end infrastructure expeirence.

Day-to-day, you will find yourself:

    • Writing clean, well thought out and reliable code
    • Designing and building AWS and Heroku infrastructure and support tooling
    • Improving the monitoring and measurement systems that support our operational scale and continuous delivery
    • Contribute to the measurement techniques that assist in the performance tuning of the applications stack
    • Actively contribute to identifying and mitigating risks
    • Working as a member of a small cross-functional team, containing members with different skills and experience
    • Sharing your knowledge and helping your teammates to learn and grow
    • Working on big strategic initiatives, tactical improvements and maintenance of a myriad of web-based and infrastructure systems
    • Seeking to better understand and deliver value to your users
    • Taking ownership. Caring about the quality and impact of the systems you build and maintain

What you'll bring

    • You are keen to grow your knowledge and skill as a software engineer. You crave feedback and the opportunity to learn from others, regardless of their skill level.
    • You want to work in an engaged, collaborative software development environment. We believe there’s value in working together to solve problems and sharing ownership of the things we build.
    • You have full stack experience building object oriented web applications, we use ruby but we are open to different frameworks as well as experience in front end technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, Javascript/Typescript and various frameworks and utilities.
    • Some exposure to Ruby on rails is preferred
    • End to end infrastructure experience in creating automations, debugging and pushing code to cloud infrastructure with working knowledge of terraform, cloudformation and AWS
    • You believe in the value of automated testing, and continuous integration and deployment.
    • You are comfortable sharing your frontend knowledge and up-skilling other members of your team.
    • You are risk-conscious and understand the importance of following our best practices to keep our community safe and secure.
