We are looking for a highly skilled Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our team. As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable systems using CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Linux, Python, and containerization technologies.

Core Responsibilities
- Leads the setup, administration, and maintenance of EpiSci's DevSecOps environments, processes, and tools to enhance product quality, strengthen software security, and improve developer experience.
- Oversees the setup, support, administration, and maintenance of Kubernetes environments and processes for EpiSci.
- Manages the implementation, support, and maintenance of configuration management tools.
- Leads the development, administration, and maintenance of continuous integration (CI) pipelines.
- Administers, supports, and maintains Docker container environments.
- Maintains, supports, and administers static and dynamic analysis tools.
- Oversees the setup, support, and maintenance of binary repository management tools.
- Administers and maintains High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Collaborates with ISSOs and ISSMs to ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Works closely with EpiSci developers to meet technical and developer requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security/Computer Science/related engineering field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience performing DevSecOps in the defense industry.
- Security+ (Must be obtained within 6 months after starting employment).
- Technical Requirements:
- Extensive experience leading, setting up, administering, and maintaining DevSecOps environments for software development teams both on-premises and in the defense industry at classified and unclassified levels.
- Proven expertise in setting up and managing on-premises instances of Rancher Federal (RKE2) Kubernetes, GitLab, Artifactory, Azure, Python, C++ and Azure Container Registry in the defense industry.
- Strong background in working with Linux operating systems, specifically RHEL and Ubuntu.
- Skilled in identifying and remediating vulnerabilities in Python and C++ software
- Deep understanding of running Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) scans and implementing Center for Internet Security (CIS) 18 controls.
- Additional Requirements:
- Passion for solving complex problems with little supervision in a fast-moving team.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Work Location
- This role is based in Ft. Walton Beach, FL (near Eglin AFB). While preference is given to candidates local to the area, applicants from other locations across the U.S. will be considered, provided they are willing to travel for this position.
- Travel Requirements
- Must be willing to travel as projects requires. Estimated average travel is once every other month for between 2 days up to 1 week. (~20%)
- Security Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility (must be able to maintain once hired)
Preferred Qualifications
- Education Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Cyber Security/Computer Science/related Engineering field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience performing DevSecOps in the defense industry.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
- Technical Requirements:
- Extensive experience leading, setting up, administering, and maintaining DevSecOps environments for software development teams both on-premises and in the defense industry at classified and unclassified levels.
- Proven expertise in setting up and managing on-premises instances of Docker, Nexus, and SonarQube
- Proficient in working with Docker, including writing Docker files, using Docker Compose, and managing Docker containers via command line.
- Security Requirements:
- Current U.S. TOP SECRET clearance.
$150,000 - $200,000 a year
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $200,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. EpiSci is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
