EPM is growing, and we are seeking a Non-QM Underwriter to join our team. You’ll be responsible for analyzing and underwriting residential mortgage loans that fall outside traditional agency guidelines and issuing clear, well-supported underwriting decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Review and underwrite Non-QM loans including Bank Statement, 1099, DSCR, Full Doc, and Self-Employed borrower profiles.
- Analyze complex income documentation including personal and business tax returns and bank statements.
- Evaluate credit, income, and collateral to determine loan eligibility.
- Issue clear underwriting decisions and communicate required conditions effectively.
- Work closely with brokers and internal teams to clarify documentation and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Additional responsibilities related to business needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience required.
- Recent experience in Non-QM and wholesale underwriting required.
- Knowledge of Non-QM, Jumbo, and residential loan products.
- Strong understanding of income analysis, compliance regulations, and appraisal review.
- Proficiency with Encompass LOS and AUS systems preferred.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Technologically savvy and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
