Our Leadership Development Program (LDP) is designed to accelerate your development through immersive, hands-on experience across key areas of our business. Over 24 months, you’ll rotate through multiple teams, gaining exposure to both the core fundamentals of banking and the strategic innovation that drives our digital future.

What will you do?

    • Year 1: Building the Fundamentals (Months 1–12) – Core Rotations. You’ll develop a deep understanding of our Commercial and Personal Lending businesses and Risk Management practices: 
    • Credit & Lending Foundations:
    • You will be trained on all aspects of underwriting the loans including analysis of market, operational, and credit risk factors inherent in the lending decision. 
    • Work on your own deals, seek approvals, and gain insight on the commercial and multi-residential real estate markets 
    • Review credit reports, property appraisals, third party reports and make decisions on whether to recommend a loan for approval. 
    • Interact with brokers and other external and internal business partners  
    • Risk Fundamentals:
    • You will fundamental management principles and how we manage risk to protect Canadians. 
    • Develop an appreciation for the first, second, and third lines of defense 
    • Understand EQB’s credit risk philosophy and fundamental risk mitigation strategies  
    • Review credit risk and the impacts to IFRS 9, AIRB, and Stress Testing.  
    • Refine technical skills in SQL, Python, and develop analytics tools for Risk Management.  

    • Year 2: Applying Knowledge to Solve Complex Problems (Months 13–24) – Elective Rotations. You’ll apply your foundational knowledge to high-impact projects in two elective rotations from areas such as: 
    • Digital Banking:
    • Shape the future of banking through product innovation and customer experience design 
    • Conduct market research to support business unit strategy (e.g. competitive positioning, product assessments, market sizing, industry trends). 
    • Develop customer journey maps to find opportunities for improvements or new offerings.  
    • Evaluate opportunities both qualitatively through user testing research, as well as quantitatively through surveys and light financial modeling.  
    • Corporate Development and Strategy:
    • Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives, financial planning, and strategic decision-making 
    • Support the analysis and business casing for new opportunities and strategic initiatives, 
    • Combine skillsets across internal consulting, strategy, and stakeholder management to solve problems.  
    • Develop executive level presentations for the Bank’s senior leaders 
    • Operations, Marketing, or Data Analytics:
    • Think about how we can better serve our customers as a bank via our online banking platform, mobile app and other touchpoints, such as the call centre.  
    • Create mission critical reporting and dashboards using PowerBI and SQL (we’ll teach you how!). 
    • Solve business problems, ranging from investigative analysis to predictive solutions across different business verticals of marketing, call center, mortgage business.  
    • Develop your data analytical skills to get to actionable insightsand work with cross-functional team to implement your recommendations.

    • A final-year student pursuing a bachelor’s  degree in business, finance, economics, or related program.

Interview Process:

    • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an initial chat with our Talent Acquisition team.
    • If successful, you'll be invited to a virtual second-round interview.
    • Final interviews will be held in person. Candidates travelling from outside Toronto will be provided accommodation.
    • Finalists will participate in an online cognitive assessment and background check.
    • Offers will be made in the first week of October 2025.

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 2200-25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON.
