About the role

A Senior Accountant at Equals Group is an enthusiastic and qualified accountant dedicated to producing exceptional work and constantly looking for ways to improve current processes. They own and execute the production from day-to-day tasks to the issue of the management accountants with detailed commentaries for the consolidated group, taking the initiative to challenge current processes and drive financial projects
 
About you

We believe that certain skills are essential in order to be successful in this role and these are detailed below. We will carry out individual interviews for shortlisted candidates and assess who is best suited for the role after we have discussed everything with you.

Responsibilities

    • Reporting
    • Supporting with production of accounts - journals, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L.
    • Report on the financial position of the Company through the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely management accounts, KPI reports and revenue reports.
    • Management Accounts should include analysis of variances to budget and prior year.
    • Emphasis on effective analysis, measuring trends in key areas of financial activity including the monitoring of revenue by business stream
    • Financial Control
    • Maintenance of the Company’s accounting records and accounting system Sage 200.
    • Nominal ledger maintained to a high standard with accurate and timely recording of accounting entries and effective reconciliation controls in place.
    • Cash Management
    • Maintain and support the accounts payables process and purchase ledger ensuring all supplier accounts are effectively managed.
    • Maintain and support the accounts receivables process and sales ledger ensuring all supplier accounts are effectively managed.
    • Commissions
    • Preparation and agreement of monthly sales force commissions
    • Corporation Tax
    • Preparation and submission of Company Corporation Tax returns to HMRC
    • Statutory Reporting and Audit
    • Support with the production of the Company’s full year statutory accounts and half year report are prepared to a high standard
    • Ensure all support is provided to the Company’s external auditors in signing off the year end accounts of the Company
    • Automation
    • Support driving efficiencies to accounting processes through the identification, design and implementation of appropriate automated solutions

Essential Skills

    • Strong knowledge of accounting packages and finance processes.
    • Previous experience closing month end processes and producing management accounts
    • Proficient using Excel
    • Proficient in Sage 200 & Excel (VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables)
    • ACCA/ACA or CIMA qualified and be committed to your continued professional development
    • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload and work to tight month end deadlines
    • Good verbal and written communications skills
    • Strong technical capabilities and possess excellent attention to detail.
    • A can-do attitude and the ability to make things happen
