With our headquarters in London, Chester and Los Angeles, the Equals Group comprises of three business lines and brands - Equals Money, FairFX and CardOneMoney. About the role

An Accounts Assistant at Equals Group is a self-starter that possesses a can-do attitude and is dedicated to supporting the Finance team. They are confident in their ability to work to tight deadlines, achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task and make a difference by pushing their boundaries to perform exceptional work.
About you

We believe that certain skills are essential in order to be successful in this role and these are detailed below. We will carry out individual interviews for shortlisted candidates and assess who is best suited for the role after we have discussed everything with you.


    • Supporting with production of accounts to Trial Balance- journals, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L.
    • Ownership of various monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
    • Carrying out analysis on general ledger balances.
    • Investigating and analysing variances from various reconciliations.
    • Set up bank payments for payment runs and ad hoc payments.
    • Allocate payments on Sage.
    • Managing the safeguarding of client funds.
    • Supporting the Financial Reporting Accountant /Internal Reporting with any ad hoc tasks across the wider business.

Essential Skills

    • Good knowledge of accounting packages and finance processes.
    • Previous experience working with general ledgers or payment reporting systems
    • Proficient using Excel.
    • Proficient in Sage 200 & Excel (VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables)
    • Business related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload and work to tight month end deadlines
    • Good verbal and written communications skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
