About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and process-minded Procurement Lead to build and oversee global procurement practices from a U.S. compliance standpoint. We have a growing global footprint and operations across multiple international locations and are committed to ensuring our procurement activities are efficient, compliant, and strategically aligned with business needs.
This role is ideal for someone ready to step into a coordinating leadership role, with the confidence and capability to guide and align procurement activity across multiple geographies.
You’ll work closely with our US-based Procurement team member(s) and partner with international operations to develop scalable sourcing practices. A key part of this role will be your close collaboration with the Trade Compliance team to ensure all procurement activity aligns with regulatory obligations.
You’ll coordinate with adjacent functions associated with shipping and logistics, helping to build out workflows that don't yet fully exist. This role is foundational as we mature our procurement and supply chain functions.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Lead and coordinate global procurement activities from a U.S. compliance perspective, aligning activity with ITAR/EAR requirements and internal policy.
- Partner closely with the Trade Compliance team to proactively manage export-controlled goods, supplier vetting, and documentation needs.
- Support the development and implementation of scalable sourcing and procurement processes, including vendor selection, PO issuance, and terms negotiation.
- Act as a key liaison between the U.S. Procurement function and international office operations to ensure alignment on timelines, compliance, and priorities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, shipping and logistics teams, and Legal to ensure goods can move efficiently while remaining compliant.
- Forecast procurement needs in partnership with functional stakeholders and drive consistency in purchasing workflows and supplier engagement.
- Help evaluate and improve procurement tools and systems to support global operations, identifying opportunities for automation and standardization.
- Provide guidance and oversight to less experienced team members and help embed best practices across teams.
What You Bring to This Role:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations, preferably in a regulated or international environment.
- Solid understanding of U.S. trade compliance regulations (ITAR and EAR) and how they apply to procurement and global supply chains.
- Experience supporting procurement in a distributed or global environment, ideally in a company subject to export controls.
- Demonstrated ability to create and operationalize procurement processes in a scaling or fast-growth business.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and cultures.
- Comfortable working in evolving environments and helping shape foundational processes.
- Familiarity with shipping/logistics or experience working closely with those teams is a plus.
Extra Points For the Following:
- Experience in a U.S. federal contracting environment or a similarly regulated sector.
- Exposure to global supply chain platforms and procurement systems.
- Background working in startups or early-stage companies undergoing rapid growth.
