What is the role?
The Corporate Controller will report directly to the CFO and advise executive leadership on critical financial decisions. Responsibilities will include GAAP accounting, financial close, reporting, equity accounting and administration, deal integration, internal controls and tax, and implementing scalable systems and processes to support our continued global expansion.
The successful candidate will have experience managing accounting in a Production environment and an eagerness to solve challenging problems, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in a dynamic environment. The role is one of the trusted advisors. Working with cross-functional groups, and diverse internal clients and handling escalations are vital components of this position.
Our preferred location for this role is at our Los Gatos, CA office, but well qualified remote candidates from other locations will be considered.

What you will do

    • Oversee all the functions of the accounting department, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
    • Drive automation, efficiency, and scalability initiatives to meet growth requirements
    • Manage the preparation of monthly financial statements and job profitability analysis.
    • Assists in developing and implementing goals, policies, priorities, and procedures for financial management, and accounting.
    • Interact with cross-functional colleagues and executives to provide meaningful information to evaluate operations and plans.
    • Manage federal, state, and international tax compliance processes.
    • Effectively manage key service providers, including external auditors, banks, tax firms, payroll providers, etc.
    • Supervise and participate in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
    • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly close process, including preparation/review of journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations, financial statements, analysis of significant fluctuations, unusual trends, and other executive reports, etc.
    • Explore opportunities to reduce net operating expenses and evaluate methods for cost accounting.
    • Analyze budget variances and their impact on product margins and overall profitability of company operations.
    • Review daily cash balances report and explores cash management opportunities.
    • Conducts internal assessments to ensure the integrity of financial reporting systems and processes and establishes controls for the safeguarding of company assets and the integrity of the company’s financial reporting

Why you're the right candidate

    • 10+ years of relevant experience. Professional accounting qualification, CPA, and bachelor’s in accounting.
    • Preferred work experience in a) Space, aerospace, and defense sectors or b) Production environment with an understanding of Cost accounting and c) Scale companies.
    • Prior experience supporting acquisition mergers process or other financial transactions with investor interaction a plus
    • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP. Preferred understanding of IFRS accounting principles, along with proper control structures for US/European entities.
    • Excellent leadership, planning and team-building skills
    • Demonstrated ability to lead effective teams
    • Strong execution capability, a can-do attitude
    • Proven ability to implement scalable processes and systems in a high-growth corporate environment
    • Knowledge of software and hardware accounting practices and business models preferred
    • Demonstrated record of success in positions of increasing responsibility
    • Reputation for financial acumen, business judgment and analytical ability
The estimated base salary range for this role is $150,000-200,000 per year. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, depth of relevant experience, and other relevant factors.
