Why this role is important:
The Avionics Electrical Technician will participate in various areas of building and reworking on avionics hardware for E-Space satellites and ground equipment.  The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in electrical technician work including harness fabrication and testing, and PCBA component soldering and inspection. 
 
This position will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and will work closely with the Electrical, Software, and Systems Engineering teams.  The successful candidate will be based in our Saratoga, CA office.
 
YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM 3 YEARS WORK EXPERIENCE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL IN A CORPORATE SETTING AS AN ELECTRICAL TECHICIAN
SATELLITE EXPERIENCE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED
 

What you will be doing:

    • The functions of this role include providing implementation in the following areas: 
    • Build flight and EGSE harnesses to IPC and/or SAE standards 
    • Inspection and test/ringout of harnesses made by other technicians or suppliers 
    • PCB component soldering and rework for both flight and EGSE hardware to IPC standards 
    • Inspection of new PCBs for manufacturing quality 
    • Help guide evolution of engineering practices related to harness and PCB design and manufacturing 
    • Support other engineering teams as needed 

What you will bring to the role:

    • IPC-620, J-STD-001, or related certifications or training 
    • 3+ years of experience in electrical technician work 
    • 5+ years of hands on electronic hardware experience related to technician, quality, manufacturing, or other related work 
    • Proficiency with soldering irons, crimpers, polymerics, and basic electronic test equipment 
    • Proficiency reading PCBA drawings, harness drawings, and other related data packages 
    • Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment. 

Bonus points:

    • Current IPC or J-STD certification 
    • Aerospace vehicle PCBA or harness experience 
    • Experience with RF coax and connectors 
    • Ability to make harness drawings 
    • PCBA test experience 
    • Familiarity with Altium Designer 
$50,000 - $120,000 a year
The estimated base salary range for this role is $x-$y per year. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.
