As the Spacecraft Systems Engineering Lead, you will play a critical role in scaling E-Space’s engineering organization as we design, build, and deploy the world’s most cutting edge satellite constellations. You’ll support the Director of Engineering in leading multi-disciplinary teams across hardware, software, systems, and test engineering, ensuring programs are delivered on time, on budget, and to mission-critical quality.
What you will be doing:
- Drive day-to-day operational excellence across engineering projects and technical teams.
- Support strategic planning, resource allocation, and execution of development milestones.
- Collaborate closely with Systems, AIT, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Mission teams to ensure technical integration.
- Own engineering KPIs and reporting to executive leadership.
- Mentor engineering managers, people manage, and lead hiring for future growth.
- Act as a technical and organizational representative when the Director of Engineering is unavailable.
What you'll bring to this role:
- 10+ years of experience in aerospace or space systems engineering leadership.
- Strong background in satellite systems, communications, or embedded hardware/software.
- Proven record of managing cross-functional technical teams through flight hardware development.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Experience scaling engineering orgs at high-growth, mission-driven companies.
Bonus points for the following:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
- Master’s degree in engineering
- Electrical and software interface management
- Experience with Ansys STK
- Understanding of designing electronic hardware from concept through production
- Experience with radiation effects and testing
- Project/program management skills
This is a full time, exempt position, based out of our Saratoga office. The target base pay for this position is $100,000 - $190,000 annually. The total compensation packaged will be determined by various factors such as your relevant job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
We are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used—so we’re looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge and direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design and in-orbit activities. If that’s your experience – then we’ll be immediately wow-ed.
