As the Director of Mission Operations, you will hold overall responsibility for the flight phase of the system. You will act as the lead technical authority for E-Space’s on-orbit spacecraft and will have oversight of the entire satellite mission lifecycle, from initial proposals, through mission design, integration and test, to launch and on-orbit operations.

Once operational, you will have responsibility for the 24/7 operations of the E-Space constellation including command and control, ground network operations and oversee flight dynamics, mission planning and operations teams for both space segment and ground systems. This will include hiring to the extent necessary and managing the team which will build these flight systems. You will inspire and maintain a rigorous and well documented engineering environment within your teams while training and supporting this engineering rigor throughout the company.

This role will be based in our Los Gatos, CA offices and candidates will be required to be in person most or all of the time.


    • Oversee all aspects of the mission lifecycle, from proposals and modelling, design, integration and test, delivery of spacecraft, through on-orbit operations through to de-orbiting of spacecraft
    • Have overall responsibility for the development of ground operations, including the definition of command and control systems
    • You will build, lead and develop a team consisting of; Flight Dynamics Engineers, Mission Planners, Ground Support and Satellite Operations staff
    • Develop a variety of operational automation systems to reduce the reliance on spacecraft operations personnel
    • Lead the spacecraft and systems engineering teams during mission operations, early on-orbit activities and commissioning of satellites


    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or similar), candidates with an M.S in these subjects will be preferred
    • 10+ years of experience in mission operations for satellite and/or spacecraft, with a preference towards candidates with LEO experience
    • Proven experience in managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams to successfully launch and manage a collection of networked satellites
    • An in-depth understanding of orbital dynamics, manoeuvre planning and orbital determination techniques will be essential
    • Knowledge of scripting tools, such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++
