Position Overview
Ether.fi is seeking a versatile and hands-on leader to join our team as the Head of Security. In this role, you will not only lead the security function but also actively contribute to security operations, ensuring the integrity and resilience of our platform. You will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining a robust security posture while fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute the overarching security strategy in alignment with Ether.fi's business objectives, driving initiatives to enhance security capabilities and resilience.
    • Act as a subject matter expert in security operations, actively participating in incident detection, analysis, and response activities to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Evaluate, implement, and manage security tools and technologies to strengthen our defenses and streamline security operations.
    • Stay in the know about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques, conducting proactive research to anticipate and mitigate potential risks to Ether.fi's ecosystem.
    • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Champion a culture of security awareness and education across the organization, delivering training sessions and workshops to empower employees with the knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to security threats.
    • Lead incident response efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams to investigate security incidents, contain breaches, and implement remediation measures in a timely manner.
    • Identify, assess, and prioritize security risks and vulnerabilities, implementing controls and mitigation strategies to minimize exposure and protect critical assets.
    • Evaluate and manage security risks associated with third-party vendors and partners, ensuring compliance with security requirements and contractual obligations.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the security function, leveraging metrics and key performance indicators to measure effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
    • 7+ years of progressive experience in information security, with a focus on security operations and leadership roles in the crypto industry
    • Hands-on experience with security technologies and tools
    • Strong understanding of security principles, practices, and frameworks 
    • Demonstrated experience in incident detection, analysis, and response, with proficiency in conducting forensic investigations and digital evidence collection
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
