About the Job:
We are looking for someone to join Etsy’s growing Communications team to help us build brand awareness through the development of consumer-focused narratives. This role will be responsible for communications tailored to both internal and external audiences. The Senior Manager/Director, Communications will focus on bringing Etsy’s story and products alive to consumer audiences. This person will work closely with the rest of the team to create new strategies and messages, and will partner with senior leaders across the organization to uncover opportunities to tell new stories and amplify our current efforts.
Lead the consumer communications team and develop strategic plans.
Build compelling story angles that will resonate with media across a variety of categories and disciplines. Partner with leaders and teams across Etsy to understand their communications needs, strategize support, and identify how this affects the broader Etsy narrative.
Create messaging and materials both for specific announcements and for use on an ongoing basis.
Build strategies for consumer-focused spokesperson development.
Share and amplify media coverage with internal and external audiences.
You will be successful in this role if you:
Minimum 10 years of communications experience in a consumer-focused field
Have developed and led PR/comms strategy with a proven record of success
Have great media relations skills and contacts
Are highly organized and detailed oriented
Have impeccable writing skills
Are a team player with a “roll up your sleeves and get it done” attitude
Love to create compelling story angles
Have experience creating holistic communications strategies that address both internal and external stakeholders
Have your finger on the pulse of the fast-changing media landscape and emerging new media channels
Can work across multi-functional teams and with senior leadership
