We’re searching for a veteran communications expert to fast charge our communications efforts! As Director of Communications, you’ll lead our internal and external communications strategies, media relations, and communications campaigns. You’ll be our passionate, enthusiastic story-teller, crafting our strategic messaging and overseeing its dissemination across multiple platforms. Utilizing key media contacts and external public relations agency support, you’ll spearhead our engagement and outreach efforts to stakeholders as well as consumers, spreading the most powerful message possible about the benefits of fast charging an electric vehicle with EVgo. Relevant industry experience is a must.


    • Collaborate with leadership team to develop EVgo’s strategic brand vision
    • Design the company’s overarching, integrated communications strategy
    • Develop and oversee the execution of various communications campaigns supporting the strategy
    • Leverage existing and build new relationships with key industry and consumer print and online media, broadcast producers, bloggers, and influencers
    • Utilize publicity and communications campaigns across all platforms to drive coverage and increase brand and product awareness
    • Serve as corporate spokesperson and/or coordinate most qualified team member for interviews
    • Manage crisis communications including making sound, on-the-spot judgments and preparing response plans
    • Prepare talking points, presentations, and other communications materials as needed
    • Identify and utilize internal expertise to promote strategic messaging to the media
    • Oversee external public relations agency as well as communications and social media resources
    • Manage the creation of corporate press materials including media pitches, press releases, and more
    • Manage the corporate calendar
    • Manage the creation of social media content, blog posts and other direct-to-consumer communications
    • Develop and measure results of your efforts with best practice tools

Required Skills/Experience

    • 10+ Years’ experience overseeing corporate communications and public affairs
    • In-house corporate experience is a must; agency experience is a plus
    • Demonstrated experience building strong business, trade and consumer brand awareness for relatively unknown brands
    • Experience working with public and private sector stakeholders
    • Political experience a plus
    • Proven track record of success with complex communications campaigns with multiple stakeholders
    • Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills
    • Solid analytical skills
    • Understanding of best practice social media management and communications planning tools
