Exabeam is in the midst of a major transition from on-premise to cloud-delivered for our product offerings, and we are seeking an experienced product documentation leader who lives and breathes SaaS.
We are seeking a thoughtful and experienced documentation manager who is an amazing technical writer as well as a strong leader to mentor the documentation team. This person will lead our key initiatives as we transform our documentation to a best-in-class digital experience.

You are a “doer” and will dive deeply into problems while operating at a strategic level to make the right decisions in support of your team towards aligning with business objectives. Ideally, you have a past experience with security applications, but first and foremost, you are passionate about customer experience with documentation. 

Responsibilities

    • Develop, mentor, and grow a small team of technical writers into a world-class, product documentation unit.
    • Identify documentation areas that require overhauls and execute for the benefits of our customers and Exabeam teams.
    • Partner with engineering, product management, and customer-facing teams to create effective processes to create meaningful documentation.
    • Prioritize initiatives based on customer feedback and build outstanding relationships with Customer Success, Sales and SE leadership to always put customers first.
    • Support and mentor product managers and engineers with required information and guidance to be able to create excellent documentation.
    • Lead the documentation team to create best-in-class content that will expedite time-to-value for our customers and communicate best practices for optimal security posture.
    • Drive transformation towards an innovative digital experience (e.g., n-product content, contextual help, optimized search, and proactive suggestions).

    • You are experienced with structured authoring and topic-based authoring.
    • You are experienced with building teams and managing teams of technical writers for enterprise software solutions.
    • You have demonstrated record as a technical writer for SaaS companies and have implemented  a wide variety of in-product content delivery vehicles (e.g., in-product help).
    • As a leader, you should be able to look forward, anticipate issues and understand where each team member might face challenges in the project. Whether an issue is anticipated or arises unexpectedly, you need to be able to work with their teams to diffuse tensions. As a leader, you should also lead by example and own the most strategic content.
    • Perspective: You need to know not only what must happen in the moment, but also anticipate what should happen in the future. This will allow you to formulate a clear plan of action for the documentation team. Specifically, people will look to you as a clarifying voice. What you say matters. You need to listen, but ultimately have a point of view that is clearly articulated.• Communicating: Know your audience and vary your style based on it. You are able to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.• Effective program management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic and operational initiatives and deliver in a timely and predictive manner.• Excellent judgment and critical thinking skills, and drive for results.• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team development skills.

Qualifications

    • BS degree or equivalent practical experience, MS degree
    • 5+ years of experience in product documentation,
    • Experience partnering effectively with cross-functional teams and leaders
    • Ability to work across multiple functions - including PM, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and executives
    • Experience with B2B SaaS documentation.
    • Understanding of enterprise IT environments, networks
    • 4+ years of experience with the security space.
