We are hiring for our first Materials Engineer to assess and provide materials engineering solutions for Exowatt products. This engineer is highly multidisciplinary and will work closely with our tight-knit team of mechanical, thermal, and optical engineers, as well as other functions.

What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve complex material and processing challenges.
- Create new materials that meet mechanical, electrical, and chemical requirements.
- Find new uses for existing materials.
- Select materials for products.
- Analyze cost effectiveness of various materials for the use of Exowatt products
- Build prototypes, test features, analyze failures in order to maximize outputs - continuously optimizing in order to never leave energy on the table.
- Create excellent technical documentation - slide decks, testing plans and reports, procedures, assembly, vendor specifications, and statements of work, etc.
- Assist in recruiting and interviewing efforts to help build our amazing team. 

What You Have:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Materials, Process, or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in materials engineering, preferably in renewable energy, aerospace, or battery industries.
- Experience with a wide range of materials, including metals, ceramics, plastics, composites, and nanomaterials
$140,000 - $170,000 a year
