The Extreme Solution Architect position is one of the key elements in the company’s organizational structure that supports overall SaaS adoption by transforming technical aspects of SaaS solutions into clear business outcomes and value for all stakeholders: employees, channel partners, and customers.
We are looking for individuals that are not only open for a change but are ready to drive that change both internally within the organization and externally for Extreme’s partner and customer communities on our joint journey to subscription-based business model.
Being responsible for the existing and soon to come products and technologies representing company’s SaaS offering, a SaaS Sales Engineer provides technology and product consulting, technical sales support for opportunities, performs high-level and in-depth technical presentations, works closely with local sales teams, product organization and marketing teams to define go-to-market strategies for SaaS products and solutions that fit best in the territory of responsibility.
The role also assumes supporting sales teams with RFI/RFP responses, organizing and leading Proof of Concept activities and demonstrations, designing complex solutions that meet wide set of end-user requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
· Strong, successful pre-sales engineering track record in the industry and territory in a similar position is necessary.
· A sound knowledge of fundamental networking technologies:
· Layer 2/3 switching
· IPv4/v6 routing concepts
· Overlay networking, Network Fabrics, VPNs
· Wi-Fi operation and design
· Network security principles
· Knowledge and practical experience in these areas are an advantage:
· Software as a Service business and delivery models
· Managed Services Provider business and delivery models
· Cloud technologies and Cloud-based network management platforms
· Compute and network virtualization principles
· Network management and orchestration
· SP/WAN technologies and SD-WAN
· Network- and Cloud-security technologies and solutions
· AI/ML fundamentals
· Automation with scripting and APIs
· Ability to work as a part of multiple project teams on design and PoC labs, setting criteria for successful PoCs, and overall solution designs
· Tenacity and perseverance (customer advocate facing internally to Extreme)
· Ability to build, develop, and maintain a network of people at the customer/partner side being accepted as a trusted advisor
· Ability to own a number of SaaS technologies from the sales engineering perspective evangelizing them further both internally and externally
· Hunger for innovations
· Major account experience and experience in closing deals is necessary
· Extreme Networks certifications are desirable, but not mandatory
· Recognized industry certifications is a plus
· Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of future trends and market directions
· Ability to support customer evaluations, demonstrations and detailed design requirements
