We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with previous professional experience to join our Management Applications team. Extreme’s Platform is an internally developed innovative suite of Management, Control, and Analytics/Security applications for Wired/Wireless Network and Service Management integrated with ExtremeCloud IQ. The ideal candidate will be able to immediately contribute to projects by designing and developing features, helping solve complex problems, and mentoring junior level staff across the stack (frontend, backend, and database). 
 
Requirements
Expected industry experience is 5+ years.
Minimum of BS (or MS level) in Computer Science or related fields.
Multi-year experience working as a Software engineer using modern technologies
Decent experience with Java and JavaScript frameworks like ExtJS or Dojo.
Experience developing applications with MySQL databases.
Experience with J2EE or Jboss/Wildfly.
Thorough knowledge and experience of using REST API or GraphQL
Solid grasp of computer science/software engineering concepts around distributed computing and cloud computing paradigms
Demonstrated abilities to work with QA and Remote Teams.

Desired
Experience coding in Python
Experience designing consumer-facing products.
Knowledge of Postgres/SQL
Experience working with network products (switches, routers, wireless controllers and access points)
Experience in working with Agile Methodology.
