Position Summary: 

Extreme Networks is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Commercial Contracts Administrator to join our legal team.  You will play a critical role in providing sound legal advice and guidance on a wide range of commercial and contractual matters across the globe.  Your primary responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, assessing potential risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.  You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including senior executives, to support procurement & sourcing objectives while managing risks for the company.  This position will be remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Your primary internal clients are from the Product, Engineering, and Supply Chain organizations.  You will also work closely with stakeholders at all levels including colleagues from operations, logistics, order management, finance, and facilities.
    • You will use your in-depth experience in drafting and negotiating a range of agreements (Manufacturing Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Manufacturing & Purchase Agreements,  Statements of Work, Order Forms) for sourcing of hardware, software, and professional services.
    • Closely collaborate with Extreme’s legal team, business leaders, and other key stakeholders, to manage complex vendor related matters throughout the sourcing process.
    • Participate in cross-functional teams to provide legal support and guidance on various business initiatives, product launches, and strategic partnerships.
    • Proactively perform issue spotting and effectively advise and help train clients on company policies and procurement processes.
    • Provide pragmatic advice to business leaders and corporate staff on legal risks associated with procurement transactions and vendor engagements.
    • Support continuous improvement of standard form agreements, policies, and legal processes related to commercial transactions

Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience managing, negotiating, and closing complex commercial transactions, some of which were in a corporate environment.  Paralegal certificate or JD degree are pluses.
    • Strong candidates are proactive and solutions-driven with direct experience with networking technology, IT, SaaS, and technology licensing.
    • End to end ownership of contract negotiations with experience in redlining and successfully negotiating a wide range of agreements.
    • Experience in supplier management and operations, and ability to solve complex supply chain issues a plus.
    • Proficiency with commercial laws, intellectual property, anti-competition, government regulations, privacy issues, and corporate compliance.
    • Superior verbal and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with stakeholders across the company on multifaceted issues and complex legal issues.
    • Ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams and manage numerous projects simultaneously within deadlines.
    • Experience with public sector or government procurement processes a plus.
    • Has a good grasp on real-world business scenarios and able to provide legal advice on which internal clients can utilize.
    • Takes a business oriented, creative approach to problem-solving.
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to judge when to escalate identified issues.
    • Have a collaborative demeanor and serve as a key business partner.
    • Ability to influence at varying levels of the organization.
    • Can work independently to drive key initiatives as well as function as part of a team to collaboratively achieve success for the team.
    • Certifications in the areas of data privacy or information security are a plus.

The estimated base salary range for this role is $124,000 - $180,000 based on experience
