Exygy seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer who is passionate about making a difference in the world with technology. Join our tight-knit team to help us grow CiviForm and deliver on our mission of equitably and effectively ensuring every American’s basic social needs are met. This is a full-time remote position.

Our systems for accessing government services in the U.S. are incredibly complex. Each year, people spend over 10 billion hours completing government forms, and families looking to apply for public benefits encounter one barrier after another. Research shows that the need to navigate complicated requirements and re-enter sensitive personal information repeatedly can feel dehumanizing. These challenges, among others, lead to over $80 billion in funded benefits going unclaimed every year.

CiviForm was originally built by Google.org fellows and the City of Seattle and is now entering a new development and implementation phase. As Exygy moves into the role of product stewardship, this is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with our partners at Google.org and new jurisdictions on a tool that has a tangible impact on residents. Our team works to use design and technology to improve lives, and this technical team will help set a vision for CiviForm’s future scale and governance.

As a senior engineer, you’ll work with our cross-functional CiviForm team to define, design, and deliver high-quality web software. You'll spend your time driving forward an open-source project written in Java, utilizing the Play framework. More details are available about the project and the tech stack via CiviForm docs.
While you’ll be a member of the CiviForm team and working collaboratively with our Google.org partners, you’ll also have the opportunity to make your mark on the larger Exygy engineering team, helping us to grow in number and expertise outside of public benefits and into justice reform, affordable housing, climate justice, and other impact areas.
