We are looking for a motivated and talented engineering leader to join our rapidly growing TLV site! You will lead the growing TLV-based Claims and Risk Insights engineering teams, as well as take responsibility for the site's overall operations and work environment.

A day in life:

    • Lead initiatives with a product mindset to delight our customers and enable teams to take end-to-end ownership of technical design, architecture, and implementation by engineering principles to deliver products that are robust and performant and delivered on time
    • Evangelize and be a role model of a Customer-first mindset with a deeper understanding of the domain
    • Provide mentoring/technical guidance to team members and contribute to consistently raising the bar for engineering best practices across design/architecture, implementation/testing, and deployment/monitoring.
    • Create a clear growth path for the team members aligned with their aspirations and organizational goals
    • Work closely with the VP of Engineering, VP of Product, and other leaders to set technical strategy and direction
    • Work closely with the VP of Engineering, VP of Product, Israeli recruiters, and other leaders to source attract, and hire A++ technical team members
    • Work closely with local HR and office ops on the overall operations of the Tel-Aviv site including facilities for local events, work environment,  compensation and benefits market alignment, etc.
    • Conceptualize, institutionalize, and provide visibility into the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to the senior engineering and leadership teams
    • Ensure that Engineers on your team are using best-in-class productivity-enhancing tools and that best practices are adopted quickly and effectively
    • Exemplify and foster Fairmatic’s humble, collaborative, and impact-obsessed culture

What you will need:

    • 10+ years of engineering experience, ideally with 3+ years of early-stage startup experience - a must
    • Experience managing and/or working closely with Data Science and Machine Learning teams - a BIG plus
    • Understanding of Statistical and ML models is a plus
    • Understanding Insurance, risk, and related technologies a plus
    • Team leadership experience in early to middle-stage startups, growing teams
    • Excellent ability to mentor, grow, and support technical talent with a wide range of personalities and experience levels.
    • Phenomenal conflict resolution and interpersonal skills and the ability to contextually leverage those for various cultures, business situations, and professional challenges
    • Deep understanding of technologies and architecture in building highly scalable and available products
    • Entrepreneurial mentality, with strong product and program management skills
    • Demonstrated ability and passion to hire and grow a team, including passive candidates of various seniority levels
    • Growth mindset, comfortable giving and receiving feedback. Living and exemplifying the “feedback is a gift” mentality
    • Deep organization capabilities, especially in regard to influence, collaboration, and communication
    • Proactive mindset to drive change, question assumptions, and push for innovative solutions
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex plans and designs
    • Excellent judgment, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Comfortable working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process
