The Role:
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for our iCasino Platform Engineering team. This role reports to our Senior Manager of Engineering, iCasino and is responsible for defining, implementing, training, and executing against our platform and integrations engineering strategy, creating processes, and building tools within Fanatics Betting and Gaming.  This role will own building a world class backend to integrate 3rd party and bespoke games, FanCash, and building backend services and integrate custom game content.

Duties and responsibilities may include:
- You will work closely with our internal and external development teams to deliver a stable and reliable application inline with our product and experimentation roadmap and schedule.
- You will define best practices, frameworks and architecture for the space.
- As a technology leader you will need a fundamental understanding of our product, feature set and roadmap, and work closely with product to make the right technology decisions to enable the team for streamlined growth and future development.  
- Must be open to occasional travel to events and Bet Fanatics offices for various offsite and team meetings.

What skills are important to us:
5+ years of progressive experience in engineering lead experience

Effectively communicate complex technical subjects to a variety of audiences (engineers, technical leaders, executives, non-technical functional leaders).

Cultural and technical champion: Improves and champions our best practices and strives to make Fanatics a better place to work as an engineer.

Ability to triage and debug system-wide production issues.

Building highly scalable and fault tolerant systems in a highly regulated production environment.

Leads discovery, design and architects solutions for complex projects.

Understand business outcomes and drives technical solutions to help achieve our goals.

Familiarity with: Object oriented programming languages, highly available distributed systems, event-driven architecture, complex 3rd party integrations.

Partnering with cross-functional peers (PM, Design, DevOps, Security, Front-end engineers)
