Position: CAE Engineer - Optimization
Your Role:
As the CAE Engineer - Optimization, your role and responsibilities include, but not limited to, employing structural optimization / multi-disciplinary optimization to reduce the weight and/or improve the structural integrity of structural components in FF EVs. This entails not only performing simulation and development, but also permanently and effectively communicating project outcomes with other FF departments and team members, planning time to guarantee timely delivery of results, documenting results, and reporting to diverse groups.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of industrial experience with Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering or related fields as a CAE engineer for structural components/systems. Alternatively to the aforementioned degree and experience, an M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree with 2+ years of industrial experience, on top of a strong background in solid mechanics, computational mechanics, and the development of structural/multi-disciplinary optimization methods would be accepted.
Familiarity with structural optimization / Multi-Disciplinary Optimization
Expert with demonstrated skills in the FE solver at least 2 or more of the followings: NASTRAN, ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, Optistruct, and TOSCA
Proficient skill in the pre/post processor at least one of ANSA (preferred) or HyperWorks
The candidate must also be a strong self-learner but also be willing to learn from others, and he/she must be able to efficiently find the information required to perform his/her job.
Excellent communication + teamwork skills
Ability to successfully work concurrently on multiple projects under tight schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior automotive experience in CAE: Durability/NVH/Crash/Optimization
Industrial Structural Optimization experience using Optistruct/TOSCA
Industrial Multi-Disciplinary Optimization experience using modeFRONTIER / iSight / HyperStudy
Familiarity with material characterization test / material model development experience
Component / System level test planning / CAE model correlation experience
Prior exprience in Aluminum structure and its joining methods
Working knowledge of one or more of the following: Python, Matlab, and/or VB
Willingness to go beyond the assigned projects and contribute to the CAE process development
