THE ROLE
As Merch Planning & Analytics Senior Analyst you will be the lead in developing the analytical tools to capture the insights that will drive the business, including mentoring more junior resources and managing key projects. You will be involved both in the day-to-day support activities for our customer-facing teams and external partners (e.g., performance monitoring, forecasting) and in the development and execution of strategic projects to improve our assortment and capture growth opportunities. As any member of the Merch Planning & Analytics team, you will collaborate with colleagues from different areas of the business.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Within the Merch Planning & Analytics team you will be directly focusing on the womenswear business, while supporting other analysts in the team across different areas:
Run seasonal analyses to guide Farfetch brand portfolio strategy and identify assortment opportunities, including optimising the assortment profitability, and review new brands that could be added to our portfolioForecast seasonally assortment sales and stock levels, to identify opportunities and gaps in our assortment, and work cross-functionally across channels to communicate those opportunities and action on themSupport our seasonal content planning by running analyses on brands performance and defining key priorities for the seasonReview and update seasonally brand priorities from a marketing, supply and business development perspective to be leveraged across the businessTake the lead on continuous improvement projects that require heavy analytics, defining workplans and ensuring coordination across all stakeholders (currently the review of our category tree and on-site navigation experience)Support senior management with ad hoc analyses
WHO YOU ARE
Previous work experience in Buying/Merchandising, or Analytics/Consulting roles with a focus on the fashion industry
Passion for the fashion and luxury industry and a deep understanding of its mechanisms/business drivers
Direct work experience with menswear luxury fashion is a plus
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with previous experience in data modelling
Technical skills to process and analyse large amounts of data: Excel, Tableau and SQL/Big Query required
Excellent written (email and PowerPoint) and oral communication skills (English fluency is a must): ability to communicate clearly and effectively in team meetings and synthesise key insights from an analysis, tailoring the messages to the different audiences
Team worker with collaborative mindset and constructive attitude: real pride in quality of work and the flexibility to navigate a complex and ever-changing business
Team leader, able to understand and allocate workloads, coach on technical skills, set goals and workplans to achieve them
