THE ROLE
We are looking for a strategic, tech-savvy, and operationally strong LangOps Manager to lead our copy creation and localisation execution team. This team plays a critical role in ensuring that FARFETCH’s brand, marketing, UX, operational, B2B, and product information content is delivered with linguistic excellence, cultural relevance, and global consistency across all markets. You will lead a team of LangOps Leads, LangOps Specialists, Translators and Copywriters, who oversee the full content lifecycle, from original English copy to final localised versions in 15 languages, ensuring accuracy and quality while leveraging the latest in TMS tools, Machine Translation, Quality Prediction, CMS and AI-driven content creation and localisation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Strategic Planning and Leadership
    • Define and implement the LangOps execution strategy, aligned with the business key priorities and goals.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
    • Stay ahead of localisation trends and technologies to position the team for future growth.

    • Project Management
    • Oversee end-to-end execution of copy creation and localisation projects across all content verticals.
    • Partner with LangOps Leads and Planning teams to ensure timely, high-quality output that meets business needs.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (Marketing, Product, UX, SEO, B2B, Catalogue) to align goals and manage dependencies.
    • Resolve workflow issues and operational bottlenecks to keep projects on track.

    • Process Improvement & Technology Enablement
    • Identify opportunities to optimise copy creation and localisation workflows through automation and tooling.
    • Champion the effective use of CMS, TMS, and AI-driven content solutions.
    • Develop and maintain internal localisation standards, style guides, and best practices documentation.
    • Evaluate and pilot new tools to improve speed, scalability, and quality of content operations.

    • Quality Assurance
    • Own the quality framework for English and localised content across all platforms and formats.
    • Ensure linguistic consistency and adherence to brand tone across languages and content types.
    • Drive continuous improvement based on feedback and performance data.

    • Financial and Resource Management
    • Manage the LangOps budget, tracking external spend and internal resource capacity.
    • Assess workload distribution and provide visibility into freelance or vendor needs.
    • Identify opportunities for cost-efficiency through tooling, vendor optimisation, or workflow redesign.

    • Stakeholder Communication
    • Act as the central point of contact for localisation and copy creation within the organisation.
    • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
    • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, ensuring their goals are reflected in the localisation strategy and execution.
    • Manage expectations and communicate changes proactively and clearly.

WHO YOU ARE

    • 6+ years experience in copy creation, localisation and localisation technologies.
    • Experienced in leading large teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
    • Deep knowledge of TMS, Machine Translation and AI-assisted copy creation/localisation workflows is a must.
    • Deep understanding of content adaptation for Brand & Marketing, UX, Operational, B2B, and E-Commerce product information content.
    • A strong communicator who can navigate multiple stakeholders and align teams across functions.
    • Proactive, data-informed, and solutions-oriented, with a clear sense of ownership and accountability.
    • Familiar with localisation KPIs, quality frameworks, and budget management.
    • Familiar with LQA and Quality Prediction practices and tools would be a plus.  
    • General technical knowledge and experience in building code (ex. Python) would be a plus.
    • Experience in luxury fashion, tech, or marketplace environments would be a plus.
